Compote vessel from his aka-e series, which showcases Tasuku Mitsufuji's calligraphic artistry, each featuring a unique phrases from Han poetry.

This particular piece features the second half of a Jueju poem from 7th century Chinese poet,  Li Bai.
我醉欲眠卿且去
明朝有意抱琴来
" I am drunk and drowsy. Perhaps it’s best you return home for now.
If tomorrow finds you willing, bring your koto and play for me. "

The piece displays a visible “kama kizu,” a flaw from before firing that the ceramist chose to leave. Mitsufuji patched the rim of the compote vessel with an oversized slab of clay, adding a charming imperfection to this uniquely tilted compote vessel.
