A wood-fired pitcher by Tomoko Sakai, finished with a white slip applied by brush.

The surface is soft and gently textured, carrying quiet traces of the kiln. 

The tall, restrained form brings a quiet presence to the table, making it especially suited to Gongfu-style tea or serving sake.
